Hopefully you’ll find the answers to any questions you might have, but if not, please feel free to reach out and drop me a message and I’ll get back to you.
How do I hire you for a voiceover?
It’s pretty straight forward, just drop me an email with as much information about what you need. To ensure I can quote you correctly you should let me know where and how you intend to use the finished audio. As you can imagine there is a big difference when licensing a voiceover say for a corporate website vs an international TV commercial.
You can find my contact details here. Once I’ve had a look through your request we can discuss in more detail if needed and I’ll happily provide a free no obligation sample read for your review.
Do you have a rate card?
When a voiceover artist provides a quote for a project, several key factors come into play. It’s important to consider:
- Where you intend to use the finished audio e.g. website, TV, radio, YouTube etc (this is referred to as the medium).
- Who will be listening to the finished audio, also known as the market e.g. local, national, international etc.
- How long you might need to license the audio for public use, or if you require a license granting in perpetuity aka a buyout price.
- If you’re running a TV campaign we’d ask for the number of TVRs you’ve purchased/agreed with the network airing your commercial.
- And finally how long the recording is in length.
For this reason I don’t publish a rate card, but I have listed some details below which includes my Basic Session Fee, which gives you a starting ballpark. I appreciate that everyone’s budget is different, so I do work with clients on a case by case basis to try and meet tight budgets where possible.
How much does it cost for a voiceover?
Generally the industry charges what is known as a Basic Studio Fee / Basic Session Fee. My BSF starts from £250 + applicable usage fee. This covers the first hour of my time recording, editing and preparing for the session. Then, depending on the intended usage/audience you will also pay a usage fee. So in summary the formula is Basic Session Fee + Usage Fee.
I should point out quickly that not everything incurs a usage fee. Projects that are strictly used internally, IVR on hold messaging typically have no usage fees attached.
Do I have to pay for pickups/corrections?
I get it, mistakes happen and scripts get changed. First and foremost I want all my clients to be 100% satisfied with the work I provide. So if a pickup is required because of an error I made, then they’re free. If changes are made to the script after delivery, then you can expect a percentage of the BSF to be charged to cover the time required to record and edit the pickup.
How long does it take to do a voiceover?
Depending on my workload and project size, I typically return most projects within 24 hours. If you’re in a rush let me know and I’d be more than happy to try and accommodate.
What format do you deliver the audio in?
I typically deliver work as a high quality WAV or MP3. If there is a different format you need, just let me know when placing an order.
Payment Terms
Once a project is delivered and signed off as accepted, you’ll have 14 days to make payment. These terms will be listed on the project outline that is provided before the session starts. If you require a different payment term please let me know in advance so we can discuss. If you wish to make payments outside of BACS using PayPal etc, a percentage will be levied to cover any additional platform fees.
