Rates

Fast turnaround - Free sample recordings - Broadcast quality

The topic of coin can be a bit complicated, so I've tried to layout some basics to ensure we're on the same page!
My rates follow guidelines established by Equity (the UK union for creative professionals) and the Gravy For The Brain rate guides. Both organizations work to protect the interests of voice artists, advocating for fair and equitable pay in our industry.
If you’re unsure about any of the terms or have a unique project, I’m happy to provide a tailored quote to suit your needs. Let’s chat and create something amazing together!
What do my rates cover?
My rates reflect various factors, including:
Usage: Where and how your project will be used (e.g., internal corporate training, broadcast TV commercials, online social media ads).

Licensing: The duration and geographic reach of your project’s usage rights (e.g., one year, UK-only; global, perpetuity, number of TVRs, total impressions etc).

Recording Time: The time required to record and deliver your project.
Basic Session Fee (BSF): The minimum fee that covers the recording session itself, including my time, expertise, and professional studio setup. The BSF applies regardless of how the recording is used.

Examples of Common Rate Categories:
Broadcast: TV, radio, or streaming ads where your audience is large, and usage rights are key.

Corporate/Non-Broadcast: Internal or external content such as training videos, explainer animations, or promotional material not intended for broadcast.

Online Content: Social media ads, YouTube videos, or podcasts—often based on audience size and geographic reach.
Why are licensing terms important?
When you hire a voiceover artist, you're not just paying for the recording time—you’re also licensing the right to use that recording for a specific purpose, timeframe, and location.
My starting rates
Basic Session Fee: My BSF starts at 250 GBP, with additional fees for usage and post-production where applicable. The more specific you can be about the intended usage, end client, editing requirements, and audience size, the easier it is for me to provide a fair and accurate quote tailored to your needs and licensing requirements.
IVR / on-hold messaging: For IVR and on-hold messaging, there is no BSF, but instead, a minimum spend applies. I charge 10 GBP per prompt, with each prompt accommodating up to 50 words. The minimum spend for IVR/on-hold messaging projects is 120 GBP and I include editing (removal of breaths, compression etc) if desirable.
E-Learning: I charge between 0.15 GBP up to 0.25 GBP per word, depending on whether you're after raw audio vs fully edited files. Just let me know what your post production needs are and I'll include them in my quote.  The minimum spend for e-learning sessions starts from 160 GBP.
Pickups / retakes: Minor pickups or retakes are typically included at no extra charge. However, if the changes to the script are substantial during the session, or if revisions are requested after final signoff, a new session fee will apply.
Payment terms
Unless otherwise agreed, all payments are due within 30 days from the date of invoice. Payments that fall outside of this period will be charged late payment fees accordingly (refer to my terms and conditions for more details). If you're paying beyond 30 days, you must inform me beforehand so this can be negotiated.
